What is a Cable Granulator Machine?

A cable granulator machine, aka a copper granulator or copper wire recycling machine is utilized to crush copper scrap & electric wires and then separate copper from plastic, which also serves environmental purposes. All cable granulator machines could be divided into small-type, medium-size, and large-scale. Thus, a small copper wire granulator has a capacity of 100-500 kg/h and a power of 25-75 kW. Then, medium-size copper machines provide a capacity of 500-1500 kg/h with power on average being 95-200 kW. And finally, a capacity of 1500-3000 kg/h and a power of 250-460 kW is produced by large-scale copper granulators. To add more, such machines are also classified into wet-type, dry-type, and static-type apparatuses with some specific features and characteristics.

Wet-Type Copper Wire Granulators

These machines adopt a wet separation method and utilize a gravity shaker to separate copper from plastic, so the process of separation follows these steps: crushing by using water and then using a gravity shaker, also with water. The purity of such separation reaches 99.8%, which makes these tools suitable for small or medium-sized metal recycling factories. As for technical details, a wet-type cable granulator has a low-power motor and a voltage of 380 V. Besides, such machines are compact and simple to handle, which requires only one person to manipulate and hence, saves manpower.

Dry-Type Cable Granulator Machine

Unlike a wet-type copper cable granulator, a dry-type one doesn’t use water for separation, and thus, the process looks like this: crushing, sorting by using air classifiers, and collecting dust. Generally, the purity of such an appliance is 99.9%, and it has a voltage starting from 220 V. In particular, dry-type copper wire granulators could be used across multiple industries, including automotive, electrical, and consumer appliances.
